I am a human being like you. I have doubts, fears and hopes like you. I wanted to capture them in a way that could be of value to you. I believe stories save lives. I want to share my story with you.

My name is Mikhara Ramsing. I was born in South Africa to two loving parents. I am Indian. My family and I moved to Australia when I was 14. It was hard moving countries and then cities at age 16 but it has made me strong and I’ve met some wonderful people along the way. At age 12, I had a conversation with God or the Universe about the challenge my sexuality would present for my family, culture and myself. At age 17 I decided to come out. It was difficult beyond what my joy filled teenage soul could comprehend. I came out again at age 20, 22, and 25 and this time finally stayed out.

I  have had the privilege of leading youth around Australia, Africa, India and Nepal, I have climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro twice and to Mt Everest Base Camp, I worked in the leading economic advisory practice in the country and now I have quit my job to take my joy seriously of helping people. Along this journey, my life, I have learned that if you fill yourself with light then everything will be ok. I promise. I hope my stories, my writings offer you some light in your day.
